The ‘Bauhaus in Calcutta’ exhibition in 1922 marked an entry point for modernism in India. It was the Bauhaus’ first foreign exhibition held internationally, offering inspiration to a generation of Indian artists, manifesting the utopian possibilities of a new, free India in the built environment. We integrated the principles of the Bauhaus movement such as geometric patterns, primary color palettes and simplified design to form the Kolkata Bauhaus Sweatshirt. It is cut baggy with raglan sleeves and a comfortable neckline. With its easy silhouette  this sweatshirt becomes undeniably versatile and pairs well with just about anything; the perfect compliment to tone down a print; over a vest or t-shirt; above a tailored pant; or stand-alone. Throw it over shorts and it automatically turns into a summer fit.
