The ‘Bauhaus in Calcutta’ exhibition in 1922 marked an entry point for modernism in India. It was the Bauhaus’ first foreign exhibition held internationally, offering inspiration to a generation of Indian artists, manifesting the utopian possibilities of a new, free India in the built environment. It focused on functionality and simplicity of form—applying functional rationality to the design of practical everyday life. Our Kolkata Bauhaus sweatshirt is designed to marry informality and style, while making a sartorial statement— your new travel best friend. The sweatshirt is cut wide with raglan sleeves and features an exaggerated cuff with a waffle band at the end for style and a comfortable neckline to slip into easily. This sweatshirt becomes an ideal pairing for travel, yoga or a casual night out. Throw it over shorts for date night; wear it with cropped trousers for work; pair it with pajama pants for travel. It even feels complete when worn under the covers.
