Inspiration : The macaw bird, with its vibrant plumage and charismatic personality, has a rich history spanning centuries. Mythologically speaking these majestic birds were believed to be messengers between the earthly realm and the spirit world. According to ancient tales from the Mayans and the Aztecs, macaws possessed magical qualities and were revered as sacred beings because their striking feathers held the power to ward off evil spirits. In alliance with the sun, it symbolized vitality and rebirth. It is said the macaw’s distinctive calls carried messages from the gods, connecting humans to the divine realm.
About the piece : We designed a top so versatile it will become your new staple. We use a very specific Japanese technique called double-layering (which is like making two tops in one!). Though it is double the work, it renders the seams invisible, resulting in a beautifully crafted piece. The top is cut straight and is designed to fit slightly loose like a sporty tank-top. It features a wide bottom border, has a comfortable neck with a wide armhole for ease and flatters all body types. Designed for movement, it effortlessly accentuates the shape of the female figure. In colors that match the palette of a macaw, this top is the ideal quick-fix. Pair this top with shorts and sneakers for a day out. Wear it under a blazer for a casual meeting. You can reinvent it everyday with a second color in the form of a kimono or long trench, fun heels or bold lipstick.
The fabric is our Teaser Silk. A light silk georgette that is given a bio-thinning process to strip it down to its most basic self. Translucent in character, it’s fantastic to play with light and shadows like a photographer. It absorbs colors like a blotch, allowing us to deeply explore the nuances of the relationship between color and aura.
Each piece is specially hand-dyed, receives an enzyme-wash, and then is cut and made by one tailor—just for you. Our clothes are a little bit complicated to care for like a lover. But, if you treat them well they will reward you in many ways.

These creatures manipulate the openings and closings on the surface facade of their mounds, to ensure that they are perfectly cool on the inside when it is hot, and warm on the inside when it is cold. Belgian and Italian linen are richer than Indian linen, while Indian cotton has unique and highly desirable feeling compared to many other cottons across the world. We have been very careful not to cross the 4% limit of elastane / polyester in the blend—ensuring that it will at least still de-compose on its own, while keeping micro-plastics to a minimum. Our Adult Swaddle is double-sided; the first layer is Aeromul (100% cotton), and the second layer is Naked Slub (a blend of polyester and viscose). It is never meant to be discarded. It is easy to mend, dry-clean only and will last you forever if you take care of it. Keep in mind it ages like wine and is to be cherished and passed on like an heirloom.

This inbred lattice technique is made in our soft Cloud Cotton, a 100% cotton knit with the hand-feel of your favorite t-shirt. We cut up t-shirt fabric and created individual rope that we then wove together, by stitching one strip at a time on top of the next. This is an elaborate process—a sculptural take on embroidery.
As one of the most intricate techniques in the Obataimu family, we urge you to treat it with care.
STEAM CLEAN ONLY :
1. It’s best to do this yourself at home with a professional home steamer or pocket steamer if you are traveling.
2. If you do take it to a dry-cleaner, let them clearly know this piece CANNOT BE DRY-CLEANED but only steam-cleaned.

While the shipping industry is essential to the world’s economy and well-being, we are aware of its contributing factors on the global greenhouse gas emissions that are released into our atmosphere. If you must hand-wash; start by filling the container with cold water. Add just a pinch of non-toxic / acid and phosphate free laundry powder, and dip the piece in for a maximum of 5 minutes. Do not twist and squeeze on removal, instead lay it flat on the rack to dry. Never put the piece in a dryer or leave it out in the sun to dry.
You can steam or flat iron this piece with no difficulty. It’s not super prone to wrinkling but that doesn’t mean it’s wrinkle-free. The best way to travel with Obataimu is with a pocket steamer. Once you invest in one, you will never travel without it.
Do not machine wash this piece.
If you prefer to leave it to the professionals, just give it to the dry-cleaners and it will come back perfectly.
