OBATAIMU IS A MADE-TO-ORDER / NO STOCK MODEL WORKING TOWARDS A NO-WASTE FUTURE.

Exchanges and returns, across cities and countries, invariably means an accumulation of stock. 

THEREFORE WE CANNOT OFFER EXCHANGES.

For this reason many of our styles are loose fitting and easy for you to size. To avoid the desire for a return we have carefully created a sizing and styling guide customised for each product. If you are still hesitant about sizing online, we encourage you to reach out to us on team@obataimu.com offline with a standing photograph of yourself—to help us personally guide you to pick the correct size.

LENGTH
We want to make clear that our Body Length / Sleeve Length selector simply gets you closer to your length (but it is not exacting as it caters to an entire height category).

COLOR
We want to make clear there may be a 5-10% variation between the color you see on the screen to the color of your piece. For us, this is part of the charm of our hand-dyed human process.

At Obataimu each piece is made to order; hand-dyed, hand-treated, hand-cut and sewed by one tailor from start to finish (no assembly line). Each order is meticulously processed and checked for quality before it is shipped out. In the off chance that you receive the wrong shipment or a piece with a manufacturing defect—reach out to us at team@obataimu.com and we will help you find a solution.

Within 18 days of your purchase, your order will arrive at your doorstep directly from our atelier in India.

For orders within India, the shipping fee is INR 800.

For all International orders, the shipping fee is $25 for an order upto $800.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS INFORMATION:

The United States requires No Customs Fee for an order upto $800.

The United Kingdom requires No Customs Fee for an order upto £135.

Australia requires No Customs Fee for an order upto AUD 1000.

Europe requires No Customs Fee for an order upto €150.

Japan requires No Customs Fee for an order upto ¥10,000.

The U.A.E requires No Customs Fee for an order upto AED 1000.

Saudi Arabia requires No Customs Fee for an order upto SAR 1000.

Mexico requires No Customs Fee for an order upto $50.

Singapore requires No Customs Fee for an order upto SGD 400.

Canada requires No Customs Fee for an order upto CAD 20.

Ghana requires No Customs Fee for an order upto $100.

For all other countries, public information on Custom Regulations is not easily available. We advise you to look into it in within your own country.

Fashion overproduction is a real threat to our planet. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that discarded textiles and yard trimmings coming out of the United States make up 17.9% of total solid waste (MSW) that end up in landfills across the globe (2018). 

We want to switch gears from the one-click shopping culture to more thoughtful consumption, keeping air pollution from e-commerce in consideration too. While the shipping industry is essential to the world’s economy and well-being, we are aware of its contributing factors on the global greenhouse gas emissions that are released into our atmosphere. Every year, the shipping industry is responsible for approximately 2.89% of CO2 gases emitted globally. This may seem low to you now, but by the year 2050, it is said to increase up to 130% (4th IMO GHG study, 2018). We are trying to work with you to help the global fashion model find a new way. Our no assembly line, no stock model is more expensive for us, but more considerate towards the planet.
