Convent schools in India have a rich history that dates back to the arrival of European missionaries during the colonial period. The first convent school in India was established by the Portuguese in Goa in the 16th century. This piece is a literal representation of what nostalgia means to us. Embodying the precocious spirit and easy nature of a school uniform, but revived as an elegant mini dress. It is light, youthful and literally dances with you—even when you are alone. We played with our Aero-Mul layer upon layer, using a special tailoring technique, until it felt like wearing nothing but flowing panels of softness. It features a smocked bust with broad straps for an emphasized bow over your shoulder. Even though this is a mini, the length can be altered based on your height category. Pair this dress with a pair of classic sneaks for an afternoon out and change into strappy block-heels for a dinner party. If this is your vibe, you can go so far out and pair it with cowboy boots.
