An intriguing phenomenon observed in crows is their ability to engage in “funeral” behavior. When a crow passes away, other crows from the same community gather around the deceased, creating a weirdly cool spectacle. These gatherings involve loud calls and vocalizations that can be interpreted as mourning calls. The crows appear to pay their respects by remaining in close proximity to the dead for extended periods. The significance of this behavior remains a mystery, but it highlights the intricate social dynamics and emotional intelligence exhibited by these intelligent birds.
Through a combination of folding and unfolding our Womb Waffle fabric, like one would with origami and cutting up our Cloud Cotton t-shirt fabric into strips, we then carefully stitched them together by hand into an intricate lattice pattern. The trackpant is cut straight with an elasticated waistband for ease, morphing itself to fit each body. It has a low crotch and looks best worn high-waisted. It has a bottom band and falls gently along the body, displaying the tropical palette superimposed into this delicate structure.
What if architecture could be as elastic as a trackpant being pulled up to your waist? We cut up our Cloud Cotton t-shirt fabric into strips, and then carefully stitched strips of Womb Waffle together by hand in an intricate lattice pattern. With this technique, we crafted a trackpant which features a comfortable waistband with built-in structure; and a bottom band with a bit of give to slip over you with ease. It becomes undeniably versatile with its high rise, and can be manipulated to reveal just as much as conceal.

We have been very careful not to cross the 4% limit of elastane / polyester in the blend—ensuring that it will at least still de-compose on its own, while keeping micro-plastics to a minimum. Our Adult Swaddle is double-sided; the first layer is Aeromul (100% cotton), and the second layer is Naked Slub (a blend of polyester and viscose). It is never meant to be discarded. It is easy to mend, dry-clean only and will last you forever if you take care of it. Keep in mind it ages like wine and is to be cherished and passed on like an heirloom.

This inbred lattice technique is made in our soft Cloud Cotton, a 100% cotton knit with the hand-feel of your favorite t-shirt. We cut up t-shirt fabric and created individual rope that we then wove together, by stitching one strip at a time on top of the next. This is an elaborate process—a sculptural take on embroidery.
As one of the most intricate techniques in the Obataimu family, we urge you to treat it with care.
STEAM CLEAN ONLY :
1. It’s best to do this yourself at home with a professional home steamer or pocket steamer if you are traveling.
2. If you do take it to a dry-cleaner, let them clearly know this piece CANNOT BE DRY-CLEANED but only steam-cleaned.

We want to switch gears from the one-click shopping culture to more thoughtful consumption, keeping air pollution from e-commerce in consideration too. While the shipping industry is essential to the world’s economy and well-being, we are aware of its contributing factors on the global greenhouse gas emissions that are released into our atmosphere. Every year, the shipping industry is responsible for approximately 2.89% of CO2 gases emitted globally. This may seem low to you now, but by the year 2050, it is said to increase up to 130% (4th IMO GHG study, 2018). We are trying to work with you to help the global fashion model find a new way.
Keeping all of this in mind, in order for us to work together, we urge you to please iron your piece before you try it on, and spend a little time with it in front of the mirror before you bid to exchange. Our no assembly line, no stock model is more expensive for us, but more considerate towards the planet.

If you must hand-wash; start by filling the container with cold water. Add just a pinch of non-toxic / acid and phosphate free laundry powder, and dip the piece in for a maximum of 5 minutes. Do not twist and squeeze on removal, instead lay it flat on the rack to dry. Never put the piece in a dryer or leave it out in the sun to dry.
You can steam or flat iron this piece with no difficulty. It’s not super prone to wrinkling but that doesn’t mean it’s wrinkle-free. The best way to travel with Obataimu is with a pocket steamer. Once you invest in one, you will never travel without it.
Do not machine wash this piece.
If you prefer to leave it to the professionals, just give it to the dry-cleaners and it will come back perfectly.
